What we achieved with our Customer
AE Smith and Nuvo, delivered a comprehensive electrical and mechanical refresh across Crown Resorts’ hotel rooms. The primary objective was to elevate the rooms back to a premium standard, ensuring exceptional guest comfort and presentation quality. This high-volume program required meticulous planning, disciplined execution, and seamless coordination across multiple trades to minimise guest disruption and maintain the resort’s luxury expectations.
Across the project, the team completed an extensive program of electrical compliance testing, in-room asset upgrades, and mechanical servicing to enhance room performance, safety, and overall presentation. The scope of works included:
- Test & Tag Program: 3,280 electrical items tested and tagged, including 280 fridge removals/reinstalls
- GPO Compliance: 1,900+ GPOs tested for 240V, full RCD testing, 20+ GPOs replaced, 50+ glass covers installed
- In-Room Upgrades: 40+ wardrobe light switches repaired/replaced, 105 USB outlets replaced, 40+ make-up mirrors installed
- Mechanical Servicing: 450+ AC filters cleaned, 1,350+ cooling/heating/temperature tests completed
One of the project’s standout achievements was the consistency of finish delivered across a large volume of rooms within tight timeframes. AE Smith and Nuvo worked closely with Crown’s managing contractor, attending all coordination meetings, maintaining open communication, and proactively identifying long-lead items to avoid delays. Detailed weekly test reports—provided full transparency and enabled Crown to plan future compliance with confidence.
The team’s dedication to quality and process rigour resulted in significantly improved guest satisfaction metrics, higher repeat customer rates, and a measurable uplift in room presentation standards. Crown Resorts acknowledged the works as setting a new benchmark for future refurbishment programs, noting the quality, volume, and responsiveness delivered throughout the project.
