Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Project Manager in our Mechanical fit out team. You will oversee and manage all aspects of Electrical and Mechanical projects within the building and construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met, and delivering high-quality results to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple Electrical & Mechanical projects, coordinating with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, managing budgets, resources and timelines to meet project objectives
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues and challenges that may impact project delivery, and implement effective strategies to address them
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle

What we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Project Manager within an Electrical OR Mechanical Contractor
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex Electrical projects, with a strong understanding of construction methods, technologies and industry best practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships

The opportunity
AE Smith is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team on a
12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
Working closely with the Head of Commercial and senior business leaders, you will develop and implement effective commercial strategies, strengthen contract management practices and protect the organisation’s contractual and financial interests.
This is an opportunity for a commercially astute professional who combines strong contract expertise with sound judgement, influential communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide commercial advice across head contracts, projects and service agreements
- Review and negotiate contract terms with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare and review contractual notices, time claims, cost claims and supporting documentation
- Manage contract administration, claims, disputes and commercial risk
- Develop commercial strategies that protect contractual entitlements and support business objectives
- Implement project performance measures and commercial controls
- Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial performance
- Identify commercial risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies

About you

- At least four years’ senior commercial or contract management experience in a comparable environment
- A tertiary qualification in commercial management, law or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of the Australian construction market and common forms of contract
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating head contracts and subcontract agreements
- Experience preparing and managing contractual claims and notices
- A strong record of resolving commercial issues while minimising formal disputes and litigation
- Well-developed commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels
- A collaborative, ethical and solutions-focused approach
Postgraduate qualifications or a law degree will be highly regarded.

Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts and Finance teams, vendors and clients, you will help ensure our projects are well coordinated, compliant and delivered successfully.

In this role, you will:
- Coordinate project mobilisation, handovers, meetings, checklists and action items

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager in our Mechanical & Electrical team due to significant growth in our Projects Division. You will oversee and manage all aspects of HVAC projects within the building and construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met, and delivering high-quality results to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple HVAC projects, coordinating with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, managing budgets, resources and timelines to meet project objectives
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues and challenges that may impact project delivery, and implement effective strategies to address them
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations
- Lead and mentor junior project managers, providing guidance and support to develop their skills and capabilities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our project management processes and procedures
What we're looking for

To be considered you need:
- (preferred) A pre-trade course or prior experience working within Electrical or AV
- A genuine interest in audio visual technology, computers, electronics and networking.
- Great work ethic, flexible and a can-do attitude - someone who wants to succeed
- Basic computer literacy, including confidence using Windows, web applications and mobile devices.
