What we achieved with our customer
Nuvo, operating under Downer at the time, were engaged via D&C engagement by the Principal Contractor Built and DOE to provide Audio Visual technology to the new 105 Philip St Parramatta headquarters. The project design provided at the time of tender was unsuited to meet the client expectations.
Nuvo worked intensely with all stakeholders and suppliers to develop a solution that met and exceeded the requirements of all stakeholders.
The audio-visual services package for 105 Philip St consisted of the supply, installation, commissioning and programming of audio visual systems in various meeting and presentations rooms across 12 levels (261 systems) to provide the following services:
- Room booking via touch panel outside the entrance of the room or email
- Laptop presentations via physical or wireless connection
- Microsoft Surface Hub touch interactive enabled displays in select spaces
- Video and audio conferencing
- Recording of presentations
ACA projects was selected as the platform which would meet all the requirements of DOE. ACA provided the room booking, AV control system and digital signage platforms for 105 Philip Street Parramatta.
A key design parameter prior to selection of the above was expandability across the entire DOE. ACA ticked all the boxes in this regards with proven track records through previous deployments.
An Exterity IPTV headend provided distribution of free to air television across the building over the IT network with IPTV receivers. The IPTV headend has the ability to be used for future Foxtel or HDMI encoded channels as well.
The Exterity IPTV headend, Room Booking System and Digital Signage are integrated together via the ACA Cotag platform.
Video conferencing codecs were mandated to being the Polycom Group series which DOE currently manage across different sites. 105 Philip St serves as an expansion of the existing deployment of codecs.
