The Client
Bulla Foods is a family-run Australian dairy company with over 110 years of heritage. Established in 1910, the brand is celebrated for its commitment to natural ingredients, quality craftsmanship, and strong community ties. Today, Bulla remains one of the country’s most trusted names in dairy, operating six generations deep.
BADGE Group, the primary contractor, is a nationally recognised builder with extensive experience across commercial sectors, including health, education, and food & beverage. Nuvo, has delivered multiple successful projects with BADGE, bringing electrical and systems expertise to large-scale construction programs. This project represented a significant milestone in Bulla’s growth, expanding its Colac manufacturing facility to support increasing demand and modern production needs.
What we achieved with our customer
The Bulla Colac Expansion required the complete delivery of electrical services for a new manufacturing facility in regional Victoria. Working as part of the BADGE Group delivery team, Nuvo was responsible for ensuring all power, systems, and lighting infrastructure met the rigorous standards of a modern food-grade plant.
To overcome the challenge of remote site access, Nuvo implemented a staged delivery model that aligned with construction phases. This allowed for a more controlled deployment of resources and mitigated risks associated with delayed trades or material shortages. Prefabricated systems were used to reduce time spent on-site and improve safety outcomes.
Nuvo also adopted a just-in-time logistics approach to avoid storage congestion, ensuring materials arrived as needed and work progressed seamlessly. Value engineering reviews helped optimise material selections without compromising quality, ensuring both budgetary targets and technical requirements were met.
Engaging with local contractors and suppliers enhanced on-site responsiveness and contributed positively to the Colac community. The result was a fully compliant, efficiently delivered electrical system that enabled Bulla to activate their expanded operations on schedule.
