The role:
We are looking for our next Maintenance Technician to operate on our Sydney Opera House team. The role will be servicing and maintaining Stage Machinary within the Opera House itself - working on a rotating shift roster between 7am and 1am.
To be considered you need:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Trade Qualified Electrician)
- Willingness to work on a rotating shift roster (morning and night shifts)

What We’re Looking For:

The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Finance Manager who will serve as a critical business partner to the General Manager Finance. This role requires working in high-paced, deadline-driven environments to oversee and consolidate regional financial operations, ensuring standardized reporting and effective service delivery across projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and deliver solutions while meeting KPIs. They must demonstrate leadership by motivating and supporting staff to deliver professional and efficient services. This role requires a proactive, self-managed individual capable of working independently, managing time effectively, and being flexible to accommodate additional hours when necessary.
Day to days will vary but will include:
- Financial Leadership and Reporting: Provide leadership and development for the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and rigor in financial results, budgets, and forecasts. Prepare and consolidate financial reports, annual budgets, and business plans while supporting managers with financial insights and compliance with accounting principles.
- Process Improvement and Efficiency: Identify and lead initiatives to improve financial and administrative processes, enhance efficiency, and implement standardized reporting practices.
- Performance Analysis and Cost Management: Analyze financial performance, monitor KPIs, and assist managers in understanding cost drivers and strategies for cost reduction. Proactively identify and resolve potential issues or underperformance.
- Project and Contract Oversight: Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project forecasts, valuations, and contract reporting. Support financial inputs for tenders and bids, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Must Haves
- CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial management role ideally within similar business environments
- Leadership experience with dotted line reports
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets and communicate trends effectively.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Proven ability to manage and develop finance teams in high-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Seeking internal applications for Technicians wanting to branch into Fire Testing.
The Role:
Due to continued growth within our Sydney branch, we are seeking applications for HVAC Service Technicians who have an understanding of Fire Compliance or a strong willingness to learn. This role will eventually lead annual fire testing for our UNSW site, as well as moving toward leading fire testing for the state. This is a Supervisor level role - whilst not working on Fire testing you will be expected to continue Service and Maintenance on commercial HVAC systems as well as mentoring and supervising the wider team.
This role will suit someone with a strong HVAC background, a self directed learner who is passionate about developing knowledge in fire, and someone who can deal with multiple levels of stakeholders including large scale clients, sub contractors and other members of staff.
Whilst we will put the successful applicant through training and certifications, there is an expectation that you will also be self-directed and self-motivated in your learning. This would suit someone that is passionate about developing new skills and knowledge.

About the Role – HSEQ Business Partner
This pivotal role will drive safety, environmental and quality excellence across AE Smith’s projects, services, and operations. You’ll work closely with our operational leaders, technicians, and clients to strengthen our Zero Harm culture and ensure compliance with legislative and ISO standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and implementation of our Integrated Management System culture across sites and depots.
- Conducting and assisting with incident investigations (ICAM), audits, and compliance checks.
- Assisting with injury management and workers’ compensation coordination.
- Maintaining accurate HSEQ documentation, reporting, and records.
- Building strong working relationships with site teams and stakeholders.
- Monitoring and supporting workforce competency, licensing, and training compliance.

To be Considered You Need:
- 5+ years’ experience in an HSEQ role within facilities management, construction or a similar technical field.
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and ISO standards (45001, 14001, 9001).
- Proven experience developing and implementing HSEQ systems, frameworks, and compliance tools.
Mandatory:
- Health and Safety qualification (Certificate IV minimum).
- Internal auditor qualification or demonstrable auditing experience.
Desirable:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.
